John Luke is a photographer. John and Luke are both common names and surnames. Most people associate the latter with Luke Skywalker or Cool Hand Luke. Both names appear in the New Testament (there are nine Johns and one Luke), but this collective has no known religious affiliation. John is the moniker used to describe the anonymous everyman, i.e. John Doe, and it’s one of the most popular Anglophone and European given names. According to the United States Census, there are currently 5,177,735 people in the country with that first name. Four percent of them are female. The number of newborn children named Luke in the United States has been on the decline in recent years, but is still a respectable #43 (John is #2). It means light.
